Ah, no way... My mate and his family rented his apartment in New York when they first moved over there in the late 80s, I was a big Benson fan so was very excited at the prospect of meeting him one day... Never happened sadly... Vale, Rene...

That man got me counting ladybirds, how many spots they had, and posting off the data I collected to be collated and analysed. I was 5.
A friend of mine told he how he taught her how it was ok to hug a tree. Beautiful stuff.
I also think it's important to mention the fact that he was a climate change denier and Brexit supporter. I think it's a nice opportunity to remind ourselves that it's possible to love and respect somebody with opinions that are opposed to our own.

Nice try, SATAN!

Are we sure he’s gone? The Times seem to think he’s coming for the Tories.

Roy Loney, rock'n'roll will never see his like again... Here's a pic I took in '06 at a festival we played at together, Chris Wilson, Roy and Tony Thewlis... Tony is the biggest Groovies fan I know, love his expression here... Hanging with two of his favourites... Sad day...

I just read this, hadn't come across the earlier stuff. So calm and beautiful and sad.

Bob Willis - England fast bowler and captain.
I remember the 1981 Ashes series with great fondness, I worked shifts so caught a lot of this on proper tv. Bob Willis, such a quiet man, unleashed shock and awe. It was fabulous. RIP Bob
