I really need to switch GPs.

• #25053
Apparently the women's team is also owned by the Bahrainis.

• #25054
Ooh interesting flex, is the design their IP though?

Bahrain just loves equality in womens sport?

VIB Natural Greatness said: "The VIB-Natural Greatness UCI Continental Women cycling team would like to clarify that its proposed 2020 jersey design has inadvertently and mistakenly mimicked the jersey design of Team Bahrain McLaren and the Bahrain Cycling Academy. The team apologises for this error and will change its jersey design for 2020.”

hasty phone calls were made

I reckon money changed hands.
-
• #25059
nah, surely not?
"The Bahrain McLaren jersey was only launched yesterday while the VIB Natural Greatness team unveiled theirs in November as far as we can tell, which may be why many assumed the 'mimicking' was done by Bahrain McLaren. "
actually, probably no money changed hands. they're also sponsored by Bahrain, and registered in Bahrain so I assume they just told them what to do

I'm getting seasick.
-
• #25061
I'm not really sure about the conflict here. Given they're both sponsored by Bahrain, I can't see why they can't have similar kit. It's not like they'll be racing against each other

• #25062
Hasty calls were made. No money changed hands. Some knuckles were rapped.

A skiing holiday probably wouldn't be out of order after dealing with this rather odious old geezer....
-
• #25064
It's not Bahrain generic kit, it's specifically Bahrain Mclaren - in their colours, designed with them and the other sponsors. The women's team share a couple of sponsors with the bahrain cycling academy but aren't affiliated in any other way. It's straightforward stealing of another team design.

Great to read that Alex Peters is back with a team. I bumped into him a while ago when he'd been going out training again. Hope it works out for him.
-
• #25066
i did a crit with him earlier this year his first race. he just rode away like it was nothing. I know I'm not that good but he was astounding
-
• #25067
Hehe, I look forward to following him. :)
-
• #25068
I mean, from behind my computer, not on a bike ...
-
• #25069
Yes, so happy to see him back. He seemed so nice, and all his family were there, so excited to see him win. Despite decimating the field he seemed lovely

Is Andrey Amador going to Ineos after all?
-
• #25071
From what I read, the contract status still isn't resolved but given his recent comments about the way Movistar operates, he's pissed on their chips so I'd guess it's a matter of time until he goes.
-
• #25072
Ineos have a habit of announcing new signings very late, with Dennis the latest example, but they usually do so before their December training camp. I've not seen much coverage of it, but has anyone seen Amador there?
-
• #25073
It sounds like it may end up with CAS
-
• #25074
Seems he needs to buy out his contract.

The Vuelta of Costa Rica is uploaded in full on youtube. Pretty good so far. Jose Padilla who raced in RHC was the leader of the race up until today's stage.
On the NHS? I guess the tories really are investing.
