You can't it up anymore, Newsnight suggesting that the source of the fake "my friend is a senior nurse and the kid didn't really sleep on the floor' post was a friend of Matt Hancock

Oh fuck. This is nuclear.
The BBC have just reported that the Tory Health Secretary was friends
with family linked to the fake news scandal surrounding baby Jack, the
4 year old suffering pneumonia lying on a hospital floor. -

Phwoar this could run over into tomorrow for the tories. I dread to think what the tories have got up their sleeve for tomorrow and Thursday.

He does chat like he's lacking brain blood.

That's not what they really said though. They were friends on Facebook but it was with Hancock's official account that has 5,000+ friends.
It's definitely not nuclear, mildly diverting at best.

From BBC/Facebook
Facebook later said the "I know a nurse..." claim had been rated as false by fact-checking organisation Full Fact and would be flagged as such to readers.
"So if it's still being shared it will now appear much lower in people's news feeds with a grey overlay screen saying 'false information' linking to Full Fact's post."
They should be compelled to send the post to the top of user feeds with a big red stamp on it now they know they have played a part in spreading this information.

Paraphrase of the BBC radio4 news item at 9am
Speaking on the BBC Today programme Labour's John McDonald accused the Conservatives of running a campaign of lies and smears while the Tory minister Michael Gove told the programme a string of bare faced lies and smears.

Labour SNP coalition currently 12/1, not bad

I'd describe myself as a liberal conservative (with a very very small c).
I am disgusted with what austerity has done to the country. I would like to vote labour because I see that I am in a relatively decent position in life and I don't mind paying a bit more tax directly.
What has made me think twice about how I am going to vote was a letter placed on the nursery door the other day when I picked my son up.
The nursery owner informed everyone that if labour get in and follow through on their various promises , he would have to increase the fees in 2020 by a total of 27pc across the board. So that would cost me an extra 300 quid there and then.
Unfortunately I can't afford that.
-
• #1871
Have you fact checked that?
-
• #1872
That sounds like a very dubious claim by your nursery to me.
-
• #1873
I haven't gone through the figures with a tooth comb but the nursery owner is probably about right if you take into account the increases in wages and pensions he will have to wear.
Pretty depressing really. Lots has been promised by everyone across the board but it's stuff like this that reminds you that someone has to actually pay for it all.
-
• #1874
Do you trust the messenger ? Can you trust the letter ? There is so much information & misinformation flying around that it is extremely difficult at the moment to get anywhere close to the truth. I'm assuming that the nursery owner is not a Labour voter and is trying to scaremonger people into voting against Labour. What is your constituency ?

When I read the Labour manifesto, I dont think I saw anything about mandatory wage rises or increased employer contributions but I could have missed it.
Edit: just checked, they aren't changing pension contributions.
