You could try that and end up paying for more replacement components you'd initially planned on.
I have the Leonardi lockring tool, designed a bit better than the Cdale one.
It's also possible to use a normal crank puller for SI crank arms, the outer shell just threads through the crank arm and pushes on the spindle. (if the threads are long enough)
