  • Fixed Grus ™ bike on a budget is go. The frame was originally build for 27" wheels with mudguards, so with 700c it offers plenty of clearance. The paint is rough and not original (seat tube and BB not masked either...) and it unfortunately has had a tough life since it was last refurbished, so it might not be the long term frame I was after, but hey.

    Put a front wheel in the rear to cold set to 120. Drilled the fork to accept a recessed nut. Sanded the seat tube (which is 25.4, annoyingly).

  • There's plenty of frames around that will accommodate bigger tyres. Ideally I wanted something like an Holdsworth Zephyr, but any 70s Peugeot (or anything that has Mafacs/Weinman centre-pulls really) would do.
