Are some whiskeys only purchasable if you can say the unfathomable name correctly?

You have to be able to spell them too.

It's one of Scottish Wife's favourite games... asking me to either pick up a whisky that I then can't find, or getting me to recommend a choice and get it abysmally wrong...

There was a definite Pitt cue tnrc connection plus someone called Jamie thing.

He was a friend of @NhattAttack IIRC. I stopped by back when they started out and were under Waterloo bridge on the South Bank. They used to sell pickle backs with their own bread and butter pickles brine. So nice.

Whistle Pig is kinda garbage imo. It used to be cheap Canadian rye that was re-bottled as American craft rye before they opened a distillery in Vermont in 2010. So I wonder from where they're sourcing their 10, 12, and 15 yo stock?

Talisker Skye is £25 in Sains rn. I’m not a NOS snob, but the 18 is my all time favourite. Is the Skye in any way comparable?

It tastes like Talisker and is inferior to the 10

Mm not that similar. Sweet and vanillaish talisker so very easy to drink. Prefer the standard 10 which you can normally find for ~£30 and they do small 20cl bottles in Waitrose for £10.
