  • Nice turtle! Love anything with a flash of orange.

  • I can't show any pics of my watches in the surf... Don't have a camera out there. But automatics are generally no good. I've had the experience with an skx and my samurai that after a heavy Wipeout they tend to stop. They can't handle the shock. They do start up just fine afterwards though. My g shocks or my cheap citizen eco drive are the only ones that work well.

I'd really like to design a watch specifically for surfing. Analog hands, g shock movement. Titanium case. 10mm thick, 40mm diameter. No date window, but a tide graph, hmmm...

  • Re. The discussion about getting dive watches wet. My 2p
If I had a watch which cost in excess of Ā£2000 I would not be diving with it (Seamasters are double that). I couldnā€™t afford to lose it in the sea. I have dive watches which I have used in the sea - max value around Ā£400. That is an acceptable loss albeit I wouldnā€™t be happy.
I had a Zenith Defy which I put in a pint of beer one night - no issues to either the watch or the beer but there was no chance of losing it.
I have a Moonwatch and itā€™s unlikely I will have it on the moon. It was a present from my wife and I look after it and canā€™t wear it every day due to the nature of my job. Had she bought me a different watch, I would still look after it - ie not wear it every day.

I think it is common sense. Perhaps if I was a millionaire, I wouldnā€™t care about the cost but the one with sentimental value would still be kept safe - dive watch or not.
Some really nice watches on show today - good Friday!

  • What are you using a random forest for?

  • I wear my sbga229 for open water swimming in lakes and the sea without a second thought. Though starting to worry now!

  • I actually really like the Neo Q, it's actually the ladies versions which I like, just wish it wasn't so much for the automatic versions.

It's 36mm so can be unisex anyway. Saw this one a couple of years ago and the finish
looked good, didn't try on mind.

Wouldn't personally say it's a gimmick, just a different approach.

  • Looks awesome.

Would be curious to see it on one of the Ā£5.40 fake Erikas straps that have been floating around.

  • ^No idea why selecting ā€œmedium sizeā€ for the image makes it turn 90 degrees, soz.

  • Didn't even realise. Looks like a hallway with a skylight at the end.

  • Taking a Railmaster on a train, same as swimming in a seamaster. On the edge...

  • Luckily it was a steam train so the number of powerful electro-magnetic fields was limited. I could find one in my coffee either.

  • Shouldn't his Julie be hanging onto it for him?

  • New watch day!

Annoyingly the date won't change... So will need to have it replaced.

    So not new watch day...

  • I really like that .

  • Nice composition in landscape though. Watch looks great with the jacket, love a bit of contrast.

  • Nice! Was looking at the inverted version of this but thought the pushers stuck out quite a bit but they look all good here.

  • Thanks guys... It's a beautiful watch.

It's frustrating having the watch in my possession but unable to wear it.

I'm hoping I'm not buying a dud.... Hope its not a common issue...

  • Have you tried turning the crown the other way? Silly I know but I've had people try to return watches to me when they've not realised that.

If that doesn't work, does the date change if you advance past midnight when you use the time set position?

  • Tried both directions. Also tried between the clicks in case it wasn't 100% aligned. No luck...

Tried it again and it did...

  • As you have already deduced, that my friend, is proper fucked.
