  • Beautiful!!

  • Hi everybody.
I am a Somec owner too since 1988.
My first Somec was a lower end with Columbus Alle frame tubing and Shimano 105 component group mostly.Sold it a couple of years later to get money for a more race worthy bike(Bottechia with Columbus slx and Campagnolo athena) that i still own.
The Somec back then was with very nice paint job indeed, but do not have any pics of it.
I got a great chance of finding locally(Finland) a vintage 1983 Somec super corsa about 3 years ago.It was mostly equipped with Campagnolo 50th anniversary components.Only pedals, toeclips, hubs and crank dust caps were not 50th anniversary stuff.I have bought the missing Campy 50th parts during the last few years and now it is almost complete, with only the crank dust caps missing.Just got the new decals that are similar to the originals, wich were in bad condition.
Otherwise the bike frame paint and fork chrome is original.

  • Wonderful! 70s?

  • I think the frame is early 80's.Frame number under bb is C601.The Campy 50th parts are 1983(serial number in driveside crank is 5138).

  • I have never seen those decals. If you email them, they'd be very happy to tell you all they know about it.

  • It took me 2 years to find the decals. They were supplied to me by Wantaframe's Allan Wanta from USA.

  • Does anybody here know if the Somec frame can be dated by the frame number C601 ?

  • Somec bb.
