No GC thread yet, maybe this will push one of you over the edge.

vanilla sorbet, with cream
Needs to go to metaphor school.
Edit: and / or cookery school.

No GCT, no talk.

But yes, he's better at suspension than metaphor, I would agree.

car looks nice and flat through the cones, though.

It's actually midnight blue, which is fine by me tbh... On my way to have a look at it now... #aussietrainwanker

Just remember car dealers are not selling much right now. If you're firm you'll get a good deal. Oh, and double check it has both keys. Common to not have and expensive to acquire.

That’s a different car, Dammit’s is a cab, not a coupé

Went to the auction place and drove home in something completely different... 2013 Subaru XV, love it! Bit of a bargain, a lot of car, ticks all my boxes and exactly on budget... I even managed to get $500 knocked off... Lori loves it too...

Anyway you look at it, trading a free car for that is a result.

That headlight switch is £292.60 btw, I have ordered one from a breakers for £28 delivered.

I did have to chuck $6k of my own money at it but yeah, massive win...

• #51764
ah yes, of course.

Sweet. Needs stickers.

hey, congrats! They are good - there's one around the corner from me on slightly larger A/T tyres. looks rad and a lot of fun. Thumbs up!

Quite heavy steering but super solid on the road, feels like it's crawling when it's actually going really fucking quick! Maybe that's the higher ride height, seriously feels like you're going twenty kays slower than you actually are... The gear stick is made from the cheapest plastic I've ever seen in a modern car, looks like it's out of the 80s, weird... Really odd instrument layout too, but I love it!
Missus loves the fact she can stretch out in it, really looking forward to some automotive adventures over the Christmas break...

What engine has it got? Better be petrol!
-
• #51769
Two litre CVT petrol, it'll probably poo itself next week knowing my luck...

Nice one

I see plenty of fancy and much more expensive cars around London than these two, but of all my bike rides around London over the years, I don't think I've ever come across two examples I've coveted more than I did these two earlier.
Spotless Euro cool inside and out.

Funny that the Alfa is blue and Alpine red.

• #51773
Nice Gregory's. What are they?

Lovely alfa, always fancied a tatty Guilia saloon with a modern 2.0 twin cam and drive train. Wonder if the v6 would fit...
Still love the original over the recent recreation.

80s crystal NHS frames, check deadmensspecs.com... I'm gonna get some Cazals, these feel a bit small on my face, they're a bit pedo...
Re-use trumps re-cycle, better to continue to use an older car than to buy a new one.
Most cars generate more in emissions during their manufacture than they do in use thereafter.
With that said, I went running today and I can really tell the difference moving from side-road to main-road, I'd love it if every vehicle was electric, or hybrid running on electric in town.
My replacement for the C55 will be electric I have little doubt, I'm looking forward to it.
I'll continue to bugger about with 996's though, I've been offered a 996.2 GT3 engine (needs a rebuild) and a brand new 997 GT3 gearbox for £12,500 the pair, which is tempting but the timing doesn't really work.
We're putting our new tappet chest into my engine next week - a bit of a (to quote the man himself) squeaky bum moment putting a large, untested chunk of metal into a working engine - but nothing beats empirical research.
