What drives me really crazy though is his Hyperloop and even more his 'Loop' bullshit.
These cunts will do absolutely anything to avoid just building some trains

Trains are tricky to retrofit into places that weren't laid out with future provision in mind.
-
• #154
True, however they've always been pretty radical about tearing stuff down when they're building 10-lane 'freeways'... on the other hand they have snookered themselves a bit by building everything for the car so now in many places there isn't the density that would make a train more workable, instead just interminable sprawl.

isn't this what underground trains are for?

Don’t worry, Larry Page is here to help.
Oh, no he’s not.

At least I've never seen that guy hailed as doing so much for the planet or whatever...

Oh I agree.
You just reminded me of another billionaire prepping for Wacky Races is all.

Now this is podracing!
... well in any case some of those flying car designs look pretty close already. Nice toys for millionaires.

Not sure if this one is true, but is still funny. Mostly coz of the tunnels one, which is true. :-)

Had a quick skim through, an interesting read although verging on obsessive level of detail.
Quite a few things in there are verifiable and / or already in the public commentary about Tesla.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out...

Grimes is pregnant. Imagine that child

Definitely not true, but it is hilarious. Though it's worth mentioning in this context that Musk's idea for 'the loop', while conceptually close to a simple car tunnel, manages to actually make it worse. It does not solve existing issues of tunnels, while creating a whole host of new ones.

Isn’t that the premise of Blade Runner 2049?

I remember seeing Musk reply to one of the Twitter accounts trolling him about "inventing subways" and he got super pissy with someone who had around 67 followers and their tweet blew up big time coz Musk slid into the comments. Was hilarious. Can't find it now though.

Don't really have anything to say about Musk on this but for a company that has never made a profit, lost the thick end of a billion last year, is facing hugely increased competition and has only recently managed to hit it's own production targets and has question marks over product quality, the reason for this value pump is a little lost on me.

Musk? Yes, he bloody gets on my nerves, and his fan club even more so. His pseudo-environmentalism is very unhelpful to actual changes being made, and his pseudo-solutions for the problem of transit in cities even has the potential to actively take away money from actually worthwhile (and proven to work) projects. You can find it funny if you want.
