Lots of the 'big guns' in terms of research are on twitter and most of them post regular links to new research but if you want basics there's already quite a few books on fueling for various sports. AIS used to do factsheets, Asker Jukendropp and Louise Burke have very good books available.

And a lot of it is someone trying to sell you their new book or fad diet... 'Actual science' is what I'm looking for so thanks for the links, I will have a read.
