Some amazing performances at the Valencia Marathon today. Andy Davies beat the UK V40 record (previously taken off Ron Hill by Steve Way at the Commonwealths a few years ago), and now one of our club's most prestigious records, Paul Pollock finally avoided injury long enough to run the marathon time he's worth, going second on the all-time list for Ireland with 2:10. Nice one Paul, see you at the Olympics in Tokyo!
Closer to home I'm glad to say that yesterday we did manage to defend our Kent County over-40s cross country title, closing 4 runners in the top 8, and I was 3rd scorer, 6th overall. Felt pretty good all round and nearly closed the gap on our 2nd scorer just 9 secs ahead. He'll say he didn't run as well as his 2:28 at London this year but I'll take that. ;-)
