this is a genius idea!
who else has a spare saddle that they've used and not liked, so removed and stuck at the back of the cupboard?

why not entire bikes? let's turn this forum into an online bike rental service!

i was thinking of suggesting this idea, too.
the LGFSS Arione could surely find it's way into the vaults of the saddle archive?

I've a San Marco Rolls Due sitting around waiting to convince me that its not going to slice me in two. I'll happily add that to the library.
On the sole condition that we have some sort of Dewey Decimal system and proper old school paper library cards. And half moon glasses.

Not any more. It's currently on its way to Estonia.
I do have 4 Selle Italia SLRs but you can fuck off if you think I'm loaning 'em out :)
I might have a Selle XO soon as it will be replaced with an SLR when I can be bothered. Also a Bontrager stock jobbie.

Thinking about an SLR myself, one of the 135g jobbie, anyone fancy letting me have a sit on it round the block, you can leave it on your bike (unless your some dwaft or giant type), I'm not fussed?

In lieu of finding a general saddle chat...
Can anyone recommend a split saddle? I’ve fucked up my coccyx and cycling’s hurting. @Multi_Grooves @MultiGrooves what’s your one with the snub nose called?

Yes Ben!
It's an ISM Adamo (standard race version me thinks.)
If you're able to accommodate a bleak colour way, they tend to be much cheaper..
Get better soon.

@skully
My dear old boy, trust coccyx and other parts of you stage a full and surging recovery.I have one of these on the commuter; it is quite nice, but as I suspect if you are a 'sit up and beg' rider then it might not be for you.

This review is quite fair -

I have one of these on a bike and it is alright. Didn't pay £180 for it though!
You can adjust the width of the split for an extra adjustment possibility

Haaha thanks for that. I will definitely tolerate something gauche and keep it cheap. It's for a pretty upright fit, just seen a more touringy one for not much on the evilbay.
In other news, last SD for a while last night. Had a blast, mostly bopping with Gerald.

Good god
Was chatting with others at TrixieDix this evening.
I have a feeling quite a few of us have bought a few saddles as we search for arse nirvana and that they are lurking in our homes unused.
We were thinking a saddle library of saddles that people are willing to loan (for a deposit) or sell could be a useful thing.
People could then try out various saddles without the obligation to buy them, would suggest the deposit is near to the retail value to stop people abusing the system
People can then PM each other to borrow saddles for a week or so - because often sitting on a saddle in a shop is very different to having a few days riding it around.
Was thinking some kind of list type thing could work eg
forum name, saddle model, status (eg for loan, on loan or for sale), required deposit, forum events you regularly attend
