That should've been a full stop, and not a comma. [/pedant]

Does anyone have experience of removing fine/light scratches from a matt finish frame? Anything that's worked reasonably well?

Why is my Arkose rear wheel locking up under the slightest braking pressure? Happened about 4 times just then and nearly bailed. Feels like the cranks locked up too. Really odd feeling.
It's an Arkose 4 with TRP Hydros and 35 Vittoria Voyager Hypers if that helps. It's a bit wet in Manchester tonight but nowhere near wet enough for what's happening.
Recently rebuilt the components on to a new frame (Arkose 2 to Arkose 4), is it possible I've done something drastically wrong?

How's your weight distribution?

No worries. You’ve probably made the right decision, esp if you don’t get to see it beforehand.

Photo? Even then hard to pin point what's wrong without seeing the bike in person and taking it for a ride.
Check the QR/axle is done up properly? Also check for tyre clearance and if there's any play in the hub?

Just received a 20 inch (406) wheelset from China.
Perfectly nice, except it is made for presta valves. I am discovering now that pretty much all 20 inch inner tubes on the market are schrader.Someone, mentioned to me that I should just drill the hole bigger. Yay or nay?
And would anyone know how big the drill bit should be? -

Not carrying any load so seems evenly distributed I guess

I'll give those a look, thanks. Everything seemed okay when I was putting it back together but I am a n00b

No comma then an and Shirley?

If you're using drops with a decent length stem, your saddle forwards and your bars much lower than your saddle... all these things contribute to your weight being more over the front wheel than the back.

This is why I think the rear wheel slipped. Cranks don't seize up suddenly...

Yes you can drill valve holes larger. Used to do it to MTB rims. The hole should be slightly bigger than the valve! Carefully file off burrs to prevent damage to the valve stem.

Dropped my favourite kitchen knife :(
Is it better to reshape from the spine or the blade itself?
-
• #99893
Might be worth asking in the Knife Porn thread
-
• #99894
They're a bit weird over there though
-
• #99895
They're not much better over here...
Edit: and based on zero knowledge I would reshape the blade from the top as it changes the angle of the cutting blade less but IANAKE (I am not a knife expert)

The spine can often have different metallurgical properties to the blade, I think? Though as it's at the tip probably doesn't really matter. Not a blacksmith though.
