It was phone only, kind of.
O2 split their deals into a phone amount and a contract amount. So you might get a 2yr £35pm deal which is £15 for phone and £20 for minutes/data.
You can cancel the £20pm part and you then need to pay off the phone bit in a lump, so 24x£15 for example but then the phone is yours.
So in that deal you got the contract, cancelled the minutes as soon as they send you the phone, and then pay off the phone for £329 and all's good.I presume it's sold out then?

Oh right, I didn’t know it was possible to do that, I would have thought if you cancelled the contract you’d have to return the phone. Thanks for explaining 🙂
That deal seems to be gone. May just try have my phone repaired and keep it going a while longer.

If you can find the part- I have got all the tools to pull it apart and fix it back together again.
Did it with my XS the other day. Obv not waterproof after but its only about an hour's work.
(*and live in London, and can bring it round, and can stay to either help or just chat about bikes and other pointless stuff). It is quite therapeutic.

My mac mini can't see our wifi network anymore even though my MBP next to me does. Tried a reboot of both mac and router but no luck. Software upgrade will install Catalina which I'm not so keen on just yet.
Any ideas?

Can it see any wifi networks? If you set up a personal hotspot on your phone, can it see that?
-
• #14958
Yup, but won't connect to it

Thanks for the offer of this, very kind! I don’t live in London unfortunately. Definitely makes me think I should read up on how to fix it myself though.

Is there seriously no fucking way to turn off "burst mode" with the camera app?
Apart from the workarounds like turning the flash / self timer or HDR on. -

Anyone got 4 of those, usually silver, hdd/caddy screws (Small Phillips head) need some to put one last drive into my nas.
Thought i had some but seems I don’t, just seems like a bit of overkill to buy a load on amazon..
Can pay postage if required. -

I acquired a 12.9” iPad Pro a couple of weeks ago to use for everyday tasks like browsing internet and watching iPlayer etc. (with a view to getting a desktop when my laptop next needs upgrading if I don’t find it limiting).
Do I want the Apple smart folio or the Otterbox symmetry case? Mostly concerned with which one is ‘nicest’ to use rather than protection as its insured via bank account, and will travel inside waterproof pouch due to a previous incident with a MacBook and a bottle of ginger beer.

Finally able to order a Mac Pro.
Now where did I leave that £47,588?

I love the idea of a rack-mounted option though.

You'll want to add £6,448 for the 6k display too...

Do I need wheels for my Mac Pro?
Hmmmm

If folks haven't seen this it may be of interest... not sure I can be bothered with Hacks anymore though...

Where should I be looking for cases for a macbook pro (16?)
Want one kind of 'slip' thing (maybe leather?) and something hard that I could stamp on without having to worry too much.
Also looking for some kind of vertical (?) dock/holder thing so I can stick it in the corner if I'm at a desk using a keyboard/mouse/monitor.

Base model is £6k, (whistles through teeth)

Do as I say not as I do...

Can't recommend anything specific, but the 16-inch is almost exactly the same size as the 2012-2015 15-inch retina model, so anything designed for that will fit.
(I use a jiffy bag as a slip case, because cheapskatery)

Leather, monogrammed, dipped in virgins blood.

Are you able to spare any of your blood then?

Mac Pro question and I know the answer I suspect - is everything soldered in apart from the PCIE? I.e. could I get a base processor and upgrade down the line to 28 cores when I feel 8 isn't reading emails fast enough for my liking. Basically what if anything is user upgradeable?
That deal was great. @duncs did you find that through that site or search somewhere else?
Also any idea why that price was so low? Every other offer seems to be £500+Ah, thought that was phone only not contract.Just smashed my phone so wondering if a Black Friday deal might be out there.
