  • You are in Barnet then? Shame not in SE :(

  • Ha, used to be - well not living but I had a print shop in Peckham for 22yrs - that was before it got trendy

  • I was recommended the Nexus, supposed to be better on the Bullitt. more suitable for e cargo bike

  • You reckon? Should I change? What is the diff? I am currently riding 8 speed Alfine Di2 daily right now.

  • Might have been @BrickMan who explained, basically it's tougher and more suitable for the mid drive system

  • Ok reverted to nexus 7, its £400 cheaper too.

  • that was before it got trendy

Of course it was, Ian, of course. :)

  • Love how they initially seem to have installed that filter to leave wide enough gaps so drivers could get past either side--or maybe the original bollards got vandalised. As it is, now it's a bit of a cargo bike gordon (pun intended), too.

  • My neph lunched his alfine using a chinese motor kit. Too much torque. Obvs there are different motor units. Went back to derailleurs

  • Get used to it, regular 2 wheel cargo bikes can get most places, occasionally get stuck on canal and cycle paths where they have an anti motorbike gate and the lock isnt a fire key or a torx. 3 wheelers struggle a lot more, know someone with a full size nihola, lots of cycle paths they cant use due to bollards and lamp posts.

  • For manual a8 or a11 are great, prefer derailleur gears myself (less drag), but if your thinking of going electric assist in the future (mid drive) then the N5 is what you want, more sturdy and allows powered shifts instead of the usual "back off, change gear, back on" that you should observe with a8 and a11 gear hubs. Also if you ever do wreck it, they are much cheaper to replace.
    Nexus 7 I haven't really used.

  • shame not in SE

Do you want to have a go on an UArrow?

  • There are some of those overlapped fence things on alternate commutes here that are too narrow for even a bmx. Sustrans claimed to be reviewing this nationwide, and yet...

    Where exactly?

  • Swindon. On routes that are designated shared cycle and foot paths.

  • What do I need. I want a cargo bike to replace car for school run, parcel drops to post office and shopping loads, all less than 2 miles but some hills and some light off road canal paths etc
Usually be carrying a 2.5 year old up front and towing a 5 year old. I currently tow these two on mtb and don’t need e motor so I assume I can cope without.
I’m 6 foot 4 so need something to fit that.
I want 2 wheeler, must have a seat with straps and a rain cover for the boy and ideally QR rear so I can use my xtra cycle tow bar

  • Xtracycle Edgerunner all the way. I’m in the minority with my ownership, but I want for nothing with it!

  • Bit wide? Might struggle with bike paths gates etc?

  • What do we think about this? I am tempted to buy it

  • I think I mentioned before about one or two places I have issues with, but none I can’t get through. There’s one that even pedestrians fail to squeeze through so I avoid that route.

  • £700 blind purchase;

Couldn’t see what the frame was?

Mix of decent and shit components.

  • Looks like the front disc brake mount has been welded on by an enthusiast :)

I’d like to take it for a test ride for sure!

  • Doesn’t look like one of Malcolm’s. Way too upmarket

  • Looks like a legit cargo bike with some mods
