  • Not sure that I'd agree with the measures used - having the most purely vegan outlets doesn't necessarily make it the most vegan-friendly city overall. I'm sure there are smaller cities with proportionately more options.

    I'd also take issue with the decision to lead with a photo of The Fauxmagerie. It's not exactly a cheesemonger - popped in last week and it's more like a cafe that happens to sell two vegan cheeses (which were very good).

  • Yeah, I wasn't convinced by this either. I assume Happy Cow still relies on users and/or owners to create and maintain their listings? I wonder how many users they have, and how they are distributed or travel, particularly those who go to the effort of adding new establishments rather than just leaving reviews. It felt like HappyCow entries were relatively sparse in NZ and Australia compared to what was actually available and compared with using it in the UK/parts of the US.

    Admittedly I've never been arsed to sign up and do anything about it so I shouldn't really complain.
