That sounds like good and sensible upgrades. The new Sora kit looks like it might be cracking value. And venturemax are great handlebars.

@PhilDAS cheers! Glad you're liking the build so far. You were quite right about the less is more upgrade approach, only bought a new fork but made a world of difference to the fun I had at Beckenham Place park this evening.
@MisterMikkel Sora kit is excellent, my mum has it on her road bike and the ergonomics and shifting are great.
Spoke to a colleague of mine today (also a bike mechanic) and he suggested maybe hanging on for the tiagra tier GRX stuff to come in at work and maybe try it out which is what I think I'll do.For the time being, going to get together seatpost, stem and bars hopefully over the next week or two. But for now, really stoked on the new fork, works and looks a treat and no problems yet despite encountering multiple heavy impacts with tree roots, as well as an abundance of speed bump hopping.

GRX stuff looks great, though I'm pretty satisfied with mechanical disc brakes.

How comes? have you sorted something else? I'm just about to convert my 26" mtb into a gravel bike. Out of curiosity, what clearance did it have for 26" tires?

I recently bought an orange p7 which has naturally turned into my do everything gravel bike, + moving house demands that I cut down on the number of bikes I have unforunately.
For 700c i was running 43's but this ultimately depends on how low the brake bridge in the rear stays is, I could probably squeeze in a 45 but for the sake of mud clearance I'd stick with 43's
This is also going to vary depending on what 26" MTB you have
As for 26", to be on the safe side I'd go no larger than 2.2, but it depends on how big the tried is, on my orange I bought a pair of 2.25 schwalbe table tops that fit a treat with mudguards

Damn, that looks amazing. The green/gumwall tyres really work with the white frame.

So sick!

what size of human would this fit? I'm 5'8 with little legs.

@youramericanlover depends on how flexible you are, it's got quite a long reach but I also run a lot of seatpost, it works out as roughly a 56 so I'd say it's probably a bit big
