• This little orange rocket is up for sale. It's a 1998(?) first incarnation of the Giant TCR (total compact road, apparently). I've been riding this over winter. Before that it belonged to an ex Helly Hansen–Giant MTB pro; she used it as a road training steed for yeeeaaarrs. I need the space now for ALL the summer projects.

It measures up 44cm seat tube and 53cm toptube (c-t) which Giant reckons equates to a 51–54cm seat tube with traditional geometry. Labelled as small and deemed suitable for those between 5'4" and 5'7". I'm 5'7" and got away with it without any musculoskeletal trauma.

CU92 Aluminium frame. Group is shimano 105 5500 and Tiagra shifters, 2x9 and all in fine fettle.
Noteworthy areas of rad: All the aero gains you will smash out with the Mike Burrows-designed carbon aero seatpost and original wagon-wheel front wheel. Sadly, said pro busted the rear wheel so the replacement is a mavic open pro on a 105 hub.
Also, the original EXT adjustable stem – which is possibly one of the least disgusting adjustables I've seen.

    Other bits:
    Carbon forks
    Cinelli ergo bars
    Shimano pd536 pedals
    Weighs 9kg.

The paint lets it down, chainstays are the most distressed. Bartape and Continental 4 seasons are now a bit tired. Still a fun and fast little bike with some very radical compact geometry, which apparently was a bit of a game-changer in road frame technology. Can I convince anyone that it makes this bike a small token of road frame history? – being first gen and all...

Asking 200 GBP which includes UK postage
