    You're probably better off with hand-builds than factory wheels for those purposes. You could visit the wheelbuilding thread but the TL;DR of that is 32H Kinlin XR31T on whatever hubs your prejudice makes you pick.

  • Okay v helpful thanks. The wheelbuilding thread overwhelms me - hubs, rims, spokes, I haven't a clue. Your recommendation is useful. Im on spa cycles now...

  • Shimano hubs are good, not light but reliable and serviceable. Normal, round, double butted spokes and any decent low profile rim you can find on sale. I think DT460 were 25 each, or something like that.
