It's very nice, and it's probably just me, but I prefer the series 2. The grill on the series 1 cars just looks a bit too snouty. A series 2 Daimler Double Six, on the other hand, most yummy.
I like that blockier front end of the series 1. If we're talking series 2 then it'd have to be the XJ Coupe but then again think I'd prefer the above as if has more waft-factor. Either series 1 or 2 though driving around today just looks so classy.
The trouble with the Series 1 is I can't stop thinking it looks like a slightly surprised pig. Still cool though - no argument there. The XJ Coupe is indeed very nice, but then 2 doors > 4 doors.
Dad owned a series 1, that was 10 -12 years old when we got it and had a bit of restoration work to keep it on the road and it broke down alot...fast forward a few years and it was restored again by practical classics. The reliability hadn't changed.
