As we’re on the topic, always wondered why emojis don’t display on LFGSS? Maybe we’d all get along better with some emojis.

New 16 incher looks perfect. Glad they fixed the keyboard and made it a bit thicker for the cooling to have something to work with.

..they also made it a bit thicker as they actually went back to the old (thicker) 'scissor' type keyboard

I was waiting for a bus so decided to buy one because I couldn’t find any reason not to.

anyone know what is happening to this monitor? Can it be fixed? Or is it bin it time?
Been flickering and shifting since I got it, but not all the time, sometimes it's good and still, the next it flickers (image on screen jumps left or right for a second then reverts back to normal)
Last night it shifted and just stayed that way. It's one of two monitors, so just worked on the 2nd screen. Put computer to sleep and started looking on ebay for replacement monitor, then tis morning it was back to normal.

It's not the monitor, it's your eyes.

I’ve somehow managed to avoid the entire lifespan of the butterfly mechanism.

I don't know about the monitor problems but I'd remove that second image with all your emails on it.

Reviews suggest the battery isn't quite big enough to support the "always on" feature, and if you switch that off, you basically have a Series 4, because they barely changed the hardware this year.

That’s interesting as the butterfly keyboard is crap. Is the scissor coming to the 13”, or only the larger ones?

No news on that front yet. They'd be daft not to, but as it needs a redesigned chassis to accommodate the extra thickness, it might not be quick.

I bought quite a pokey MBP and frankly I don’t think I need it, I should really have got a MacBook, but they stopped making those.

I’d happily take a better keyboard on my 13” MBP in exchange for some cpu grunt that I don’t use.
