Winter is hard going for sure. I was mad keen 15 years ago when I properly got into Carping, and would go and sit on a freezing lake or the River Ouse and catch my death, and then go back they next day and blank again
I did have a little success spinning on the Ouse for Jack Pike and the odd decent Perch though. Also on the Grand Union Canal too
