I want to convert some CD's to MP3 in order to be able to play them in the car - what's the recommended application for doing this on a Mac?

Hmm I found and then lost and cannot re-find the option to convert into MP3 rather than AAC. Where has it gone? iTunes, btw.

Ok, I did that - saved as MP3, then I copied the album onto the USB stick I want to use, and every file ends with .m4a, which is not what I wanted. What happened - are Apple simply fucking with me?

You definitely changed the setting before you imported the CD?

And you get an m4a if you right/alt click the file in iTunes and choose "Show In Finder"?

Not sure what happened there - you're sure you chose and confirmed to use 'MP3 Encoder', yea?

If I were you I'd check that / import again.
Also there's the option to select files and in the menu bar go file > convert > create mp3 version or something similar for files you already have and want to convert to mp3).

just had a scare with my iphone, battery run down, turning itself off and then refusing to recharge.
what of the myriad iphones that have come after my 6s would be the best value for money as a secondhand upgrade, would like 128gb, and it to be approximately the same size as my 6s.
Would need to be unlocked as I'm not going back to a contract..

I just got one, 128GB refurbished, looks and acts like new, very happy.
I was opting for a 7 but it was not offering much what was of use to me,
also the 6s is the last one with a 3.5mm headphone jack which I really like.

could do but I like to be behind the curve, and there's been how many versions of the iphone since the 6s, three, four??? Feels like sticking where I am means more pain in the future.

Getting a 6s today seems silly, it's already pretty outdated. Why not get an 8 if you want something a bit older? I've got an XR that I'm super happy with. Upgraded from a 6S that was almost unusable

My 6s is still pretty useable, some slowdown/stutter occasionally, but I haven't updated for a while..
that XR deal above has got me thinking, I'd just like more storage and looking at 128gb means I'll be into the £500+ range.

Why 128gb? Doesn't iCloud offload photos and videos etc so you always have space?

Just checked mine and I have an 128gb thinking I need the space, but got 80gb free even though it's rammed with AWESOME VIDEOS OF MY KIDS

Yeah thinking of switching too, especially with the new crappy way of managing Libraries.

How can I turn off these fucking unicorns in the recent iOS?
I want the normal Emoji but not the stupid stickers that it insists on showing as "frequently used" even though I did not ever use them.

I think if you tap the ‘clock’, bottom left icon on the emoji keyboard, it adjusts to cut them off and then when you open the emoji keyboard from then on, you don’t see them. Seems to work for me
