Too late.
Just for VR??

Yep.

Everyone (present company excepted) seems wetting themselves with excitement about it. But, like, I'd have to buy a big piece of shit to strap to my face just to play this one game and I'm having a hard time feeling very enthused about it. What if VR gives me motion sickness? It's a lot of money to spend on hardware that might make you physically ill.
A few people from Valve did some interview thing where they were banging on about how they couldn't possibly have made the game work with non-VR technology because they are just that innovative and special.

Might just be me but I don’t fancy strapping a screen to my face so a head crab can fly at me likely leading to me shitting myself. Just a bit too much immersion for my liking.

I have Vive Pro and am excited at the prospect of shitting myself.

To be fair, the closest a game has come to making me want a VR headset was Alien Isolation

I need the gear, but I am super extra fucking excited.

sometimes gaming technology has to make a giant leap to bring in the next wave of innovation and usher in a new age of entertainment.
this is just as momentus a step as the releases of the power glove, the phillips cd-i, the atari jaguar or the sega saturn. amazing.

The Jaguar was great.

Sound awful like architects talking about how making a building accessible ruin their design.

Like removing audio port on phones.

Haha! Yes! I was trying to think what it reminded me of and you've made me realise that it's all those hundreds of bellends at work I need to navigate daily who keep telling me that they can't make their shitty websites accessible because it's the 21st century and we all use javascript now. And it doesn't matter if we serve 72MB of scripts and trackers per page because everyone has 5G anyway.
I had to google what a "power glove" was and now I really fucking want one. They're very cyberpunk, aren't they? They should re-release those.

Heard that Lidl will be selling the digital only XBone for £130 on Friday.
Unsure on how many each store will get but I imagine very few, but worth a punt if anyone fancied one

Just discovered Gris. It’s beautiful, and what a soundtrack. If anyone else is in to atmospheric games this is one to add to your collection

This looks sick, weird arty shit like this is right up my street.
Recently finished death stranding, was kinda hating the story during the second half and finding the gameplay very tedious, but the ending almost totally redeemed it for me. Anyone else reached the end?

• #21268
I've just reached the end of rebuilding all the roads.

Haha that is certainly a milestone. Mountain zipline network next.

Maybe someone here has a recommendation for me. I'm looking for a good old Spaceship game.
specifically:
- Single Player
- Open World
- Lots of customization
- Not tooooo complicated though.
- I wanna build/buy/customize a spaceship, fly it through space and shoot at things.
I've played and enjoyed Freelancer (heck, this was the childhood game that got me into all this), Darkstar One (limited to one ship, though), X3 (sunk SO many hours into this.) etc.
Anything new-ish out there, that I've missed?
- Single Player

Elite?
Both on the wishlist - thanks.
Is Elite playable in Singleplayer?

There are some new games in the X series, can't recommend X Rebirth from my experience of it. Nothing compared to X3. But X4 Foundations was out last year which I've not played yet. Could be worth looking into. Unsure about the ship customisability in game though. As mentioned already No Mans Sky is getting good reviews now that it's had some updates and there's Elite Dangerous.

Thanks, I'll check these out. :)
Just watching the prologue for Death Stranding now. I never played much Silent Hill or Metal Gear Solid but I'm blown away by the concept and execution of what I've seen so far. Pretty insane when you think about how far games have come.
