There seems to be a lot of conflicting information. SJS don’t stock anything that will run directly from a Dynamo yet Peter White cycles has an article which specifically says that any B+M rear light post 2015 can run directly from the Dynamo.

Just confirming that a setup of a Supernova front light and e-bike 6V rear lights works with standlight function. I used a Lezyne rear light, but I guess this should work pretty well across most most e-bike rear lights.

Im building a dynamo wheel for my dads commuter and he'd like flashing front and rear lights. From my understanding German laws forbid this and most dynamo lights adhere to German laws. Does anyone make them? Its for London only commuting, no dark lanes. Just needs to be seen by tourists/idiots on their phones

I don’t recall seeing any flashing dynamo rear lights other than the small one made by Klite, the ‘qube’ but even that needs to run through his usb charger rather than direct from dynamo or cache battery.

Flashing lights are less safe (harder for drivers to grasp your actual distance) and annoying

Tell him it’s impossible to see where a flashing light is in terms of distance. They are overbearing and fucking annoying to be going against!

What kind of fork? I drill and tapped a hole in the front of my steel fork.

Sends the light beam pattern out poorly, make sure you see one first to check!

Was that for me or for someone else? I'm going to make a fabricator create a twisted one so the light is kept horizontal and level.

I made one out of some scrap aluminium as I couldnt find any suitable options for sale.

Noobie questions on dynamo options:
- What options are there for 12mm TA dynamo hub (beside the expensive SON)?
- Can a dynamo easily power front and rear lights?
- What options are there for 12mm TA dynamo hub (beside the expensive SON)?
Oh damn, that's strange. I've only seen that they have protection, except the tiny one, Toplight line small, that doesn't have any.
