• 11.11 sale today on Aliexpress if anyone been holding off for anything

  • This used to be waiting weeks for but, annoyingly, last/this year the discounts are tiny and only counter the incremental price rises leading up to the event.

That + the air freight guilt means no knock-off Bianchis for me this year.

  • Been checking microNew 7 speed STIs regularly in the past months there, and they have exactly the same price now as before, but they claim to be 40-50% cheaper haha. This 11.11 sale is a huge scam.

  • I got a sleeping mat for €20 instead of the €24 it was at for the past couple weeks. Was putting off buying it as I won't be needing it before next spring, so 20% off was a good incentive.

Also bought a pair of ~flat~ mount Spyres for €50, that's a serious deal (if I don't get stung on import charges): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33002423160.html I thought they were FM though, hopefully I can at least flog them for what I paid.

  • yup, was watching a carbon rim. couple of days a go it said it would be cheaper on the 11th however it seems the original price has inflated to cover the discount.

  • Has anyone bought a groupset from Aliexpress? Shimano stuff with significant discounts. Obviously plenty of fake stuff on there but surely that would be tough to fake?

  • Also interested to hear anecdotal evidence of this as I’d always kind of assumed that no one would bother to fake groupset stuff as there would be too much effort required to produce it only to sell for a slightly lower price than the genuine stuff and hence it would be hard to profit from vs. frames for example?

  • They're genuine OEM groupsets usually. I looked into buying one before but the cost wasn't significantly lower than buying from the UK. Full R8000 on aliexpress is £440 + £40 shipping then you'll pay import duty on top of that. Same groupset on CRC minus bottom bracket is £550 with free postage and no duty to pay, plus dealing with a UK company for warranty etc.

  • Got a Sram froce CX1 mini groupset (rear mech, levers, cassette). Full original.

  • Latest link for knock off oakleys? Mine have been great, used near constantly, but pin holding the arms on has begun to rust.

  • Ordered two sets of Litepro short arm v-brakes, they look OK and are super light. Hopefully here in two weeks, already inside a plane, Yay!

  • Bought a pair of Koozer XM490 hubs off eBay from a listing that said "28H" in the title £55 free postage.

Delivered by RoyalMail 48, fulfilled by Amazon.

    The hubs arrived 32H.

All the listings on Amazon for XM490 pairs are over £60. wtf.

At least I haven't ordered spokes for these. Will probably use them for a different project rather than faffing returning them.

  • ask for a return, they will probably let you keep them....

  • Thinking of ordering a pair too, I'll wait to see what you think, keep me updated :-)

  • Anyone have some spare photochromic sunnies?

  • Is there a forum approved set of Cree lights for night time offroad/cross?

  • I'm looking to pick up a new set of forks for my commuter so I can have a disc brake on the front. Does anyone have experience with the Chinese crabon ones that can be had for worrying ly low prices on alieexpress and ebay? Not looking for a 'Gravel' variant so something around 36cm a2c, only needs to fit 28c tyre max

  • Which type are you after? I've got a pair that i'm not likely to use. I think they're flight jackets and i'm pretty sure they have a few lenses. Let me know and I'll dig them out

This seems to be a perfect ripoff of the Wolftooth chainlinkpliers. Even with the magnet.

  • Nice! I have set of these which do double duty as chain link pliers and tire levers:

  • @amey?

This seems to be a perfect ripoff of the Wolftooth chainlinkpliers.
    Even with the magnet.

  • Sweet. Thanks.

  • Anyone tried some of the EC90 tri bars on Aliexpress? They seem cheap and light which makes me wonder about my dental cover. May just grab these instead...

  • Mine arrived today. Looks good quality. Pic later.

  • Any thoughts on what the current go-to is for a lightweight carbon clincher wheelset suitable for Campagnolo 10s? Thanks in advance.
