3D print them, and just wrap them tight in the bar tape.

Could just take the 'lever' bit off of these

Tektro RL340s can be had for less than 20 bucks with a little shopping around, the levers can be popped out pretty easily if you just want the hoods.
You could pop the levers out, add some expanding foam or something and then sand/file into a nice shape and wrap in tape if you didn’t want that ‘leverless hoods’ look.

Well for 3D printing i would need some kind of file to print from - I don’t know anything about printing myself 😅
And the cane creek ones won’t give that integrated feel/look.
But I might end up trying something like that. -

Dia compe also make these

Finger mounted butt plugs?

Reminds of the home made aero helmet thread from a while back, shame a lot of the images don't exist in it anymore.
The 8bar hoods don't look substantial enough to grip on to? Look kinda cool though.

Sugru? Just like squeeze a fistful onto each side where you hold on, bake at 180 and hey presto there’s your own custom made honking rubbers ready to wrap in bar tape.

• #10
I was thinking the same thing, but it’s expensive?
-
• #11
Riding hoodless drops was an ongoing battle with unfurling bar tape, so come up with something that'll also allow you to reverse the tape direction

In order of cost: Sugru>Fimo>pastry?

In order of cost: Sugru>Fimo>pastry>Tektro levers and expanding foam
FTFY.

Not surprising they didn't make them, you can't replicate the grip you'd have with hoods. If you need more length on the ramps just buy longer reach handlebars.

Those diacompe ones make me want to quit living...
Well it seems like there isn't anyone who has some real experience making these.. I might have my girlfriends sister make some on a 3D printer.. Ill let you know if it works haha

im hoping they were made for tandems...

These are Montenegro MFG Enduro bars I don't think 8bar had anything to with them,
You can buy them from the guy who fabricates them.

I saw those - and they are sick!
But also way out of pricerange! -

Isn't the difficulty with the design of those shark fin bar/hoods that you can't 'pull up' on them? Your hand would slip off. I tend to pull up on the hoods going uphill.
Not sure if this was posted the right place but here goes.
So apparently 8bar never released these https://bikerumor-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/8bar-Aero-Hoods-prototype_Tmplhof-fixed-crit-race-bike_alternate-handlebar-hand-positions.jpg
I’m looking to do something like this but I was wondering if anybody has done something like it DIY?
I could probably do something out of wood but getting a snug fit to the bars and mounting it would be a bitch.
