Aren't Wolverine made of Tange Prestige? My Panasonic NJS uses that tubeset.
Edit: Maybe not:
"Those who were around the in 1980s remember Tange Prestige as one of the best tubesets ever made......However the Japanese Tange operation closed in the late 1990s and the Soma's Taiwanese tubing appears to share only the name and sticker with the revered Tange Prestige of old."
"If you don't know this, you may expect the ride quality of a superlight, thin wall tubeset, and you may be disappointed."

Tange Prestige actually means 'gaspipe' in japanese

Wolverine will take 2.1's easily without guards, with them I would be surprised. Maybe if they are slicks?
I've not had much opportunity to do a lot of proper off road riding with it tbh, certainly less than I'd intended, but have taken it across the Gaik pass and through the Cairngorms, that was enjoyable but enough to expose its limitations as a hardtail MTB would have been infinitely more capable, especially on the downhills.
Gravel and fire roads it's fantastic though, and on road it rides like a limousine.

Anyone after some 27.5x2.1 Rocket Ron's for £20?
I've got wide rims and would rather a bit more mud clearance.

Would also be tempted to sell the complete bike...

Selling already? Didnt you just build this?
-
• #310
I can’t keep up. What are you doing now?
-
• #311
Going off the last page I can only see that it might be tyre clearance? Time for a mtb?
-
• #312
^Nice build that!
Also can't tell if you're not happy for some reason and selling it now? Is it the handling with those flat bars? I found that a 100mm stem even with swept back flat bars handled... weird. Like it just became too lazy. I think drops work best, leave the rigid MTB setup for some other bike. -

I think he's just a road cyclist in denial

@yakut these bars are great actually, they make it feel like a bike BMX. I'd recommend them to anyone!
I think I can do every type of riding I want on a SuperX. and they sell them in Red now...
Would split, if someone was interested in an as-new frame at trade price.

SuperX
I approve

Would anyone be interested in my month-old 54cm frameset for £500?

Rather than start a new thread.....
Been looking at these https://www.somafab.com/archives/product/urban-pursuit-handlebar
Not really aware of Soma as never actually seen a bike or any other bit's. Going to go through this whole thread anyway.
Going by prices Soma parts are not the cheapest, is the quality there or is it badge hype.So far i have found the Soma bars to match exactly what fitment i want, or for £25 BLB do a set of bars that fit..... but BLB so really cheap part with extra badge Tax on top.
Closest i can get with Nitto's involves a 28mm bar drop not flat.
Soma on a par with Nitto ? -

Hi everyone, I just bought the soma wolverine frameset but the limiting screws on the dropouts got lost in the mail. Has anyone got a spare pair? Thanks !
-
• #321
You can just use some standard m5 screws.
-
• #323
Those are exactly the ones i meant. They are standard M5 thread and the only features are an added nut and the stainless steel.

Thanks mate !

I'm tempted with the new WCS Adventure Carbon fork from Ritchey.
1 1/8 straight steerer, 15mm TA option and cargo cage mounts make it an ideal candidate for the Wolverine despite the 393mm A-C, which is 10mm less than the Soma Thru-Axle CrMo fork (same rake). Does anyone have experience with Ritchey forks? Or does anyone know how it will affect steering and/or overall behavior of the bike?
they are all gaspipe m8
