The answer is indeed yes and no. The problem with the first gen 5k, and the reason I’m selling mine, is you can’t connect them to egpus directly as they are tb3 only so you will not get all the performance benefits. Some apps and tasks will still use it, and I think the creative suite does alright with an eGPU these days but it’s not optimal set up wise.
So an updated 5k and an egpu is the way to go? Found a few blog posts last night about later versions of Sketch offloading more work on the gpu compared to earlier versions
Yeah, but you'll also need a special cable which costs about 80 quid. Some VR cable which splits Display port and USB.
Interesting about Sketch offloading to GPU, can't wait to get all my stuff set up again, living on a building site atm and im going crackers.
