The 36mm datejust is already 1k more than I pad for my 41mm 2 years ago. Slightly different models but still....

It’s still less than a Globemaster with greatly inferior finishing, a less accurate movement and end links that look like this...
You’re right of course, despite the upgraded movement in the new DJ36, prices have been soaring, but it’s across the industry. Rolex RRP looks like value next to Omega/Breitling/IWC etc. I think it has more to do with the strength of the Swiss franc than price gouging. The industry is not in the sort of rude health that would encourage that atmo.

I think rolex are pushing the price up to match the secondary market prices... They will keep going up until the steel submariner is £15k RRP. They'd probably want to see some of this earnings too. It is their watch brand.

I think the ones you're after are called ZULU rather than NATO. There are a tonne on ebay including some lovely leather ones if that's your bag

No way. There's tons of available supply at £15k. If they did this you'd be able to walk into any Rolex store anywhere and buy what you want.

That 1058 is a proper beaut (and agree about sticking it on a strap, I never think Panerai look right on a bracelet).

Ta, but this is what I crave - RAF style with two nylon keepers.

New watch day for me!
An earlier than expected birthday present.
After being told lists were 3 months or so long, had a call after 3 weeks to say they had one in. Seemed it would be rude not to get it

That is the good end, the other side is a bit worn, but I will let her decided if the wants to keep it.

my omega is making a rather loud noise when i move it around, like metal sliding across metal (i guess the movement is touching something it shouldn’t as it moves)
where would you take it in london for a service that wont cost an arm and a leg?
i have no history for it so sticking with official/authorised isnt too important to me

Maybe as simple as the rotor coming a little loose?

Ok, from your tone (inferred) I’m hearing “it’s fucked”.
Baller watch.
