That Holdsworth could do with mudguards, matching wheelset and bigger tyres, if I may. I have an early 60s Soens on its way, I plan to do something similar with it, I've actually considered a centrpull brake, as i'm going from 27 1/4 to 700c too.

That Holdsworth could do with...bigger tyres
Indeed. Fill up the clearances with 35C and go crush some gravel.

(I know I'm not the recipient but) that's the plan.

Probably right, needs 27" rims rather than 700C.
I have a 1957 A.S.Gillott in the build, just needing period brakes and bars. -

I have the original wheelset from the Soens going free if you can collect.

Replaced my Langster with a steel Pinnacle. Got rid of the silly brake levers, oe saddle and put decent wheels with a fixed sprocket and guards on. For such a cheap bike (£250 iirc) rides really nicely, with quite old school geometry.

Flat bar are much more relaxing, I just went for drop because I want it to feel like a roadie.

With bar that narrow??

With bar that narrow?
I don't know what bars @Fixedwheelnut has on his Holdsworth, but I ride gravel on my Hirame with 40cm Cinelli 63s

Thanks Ed. How about climbing on the flat bars?
I rode the Gary Fisher up a moderate but long climb today and noticed I naturally found myself out the saddle and on the hoods. Did think that the flat bar would effectively force me further back which might be sub optimal for steeper or longer climbs. But I like the idea of more relaxing the rest of the time.
Will probably just stop over thinking it and give it a try.

Recently purchased another capo and I was trawling the web for inspo and found this rad looking capo, thought I'd share as it probably fits right in this thread.
