  • 1st pic: Is how it should be picked up, weird to hold like that
2nd pic: the 'thumb' tab to take the back off(?) but encourages (me) to pick up using that
3rd pic: Is how I pick up

    Maybe I am stupid?

  • Yea that thumb / middlefinger tab is intended to mount / remove the back more easily.
Can't really see why you would grab there to pick up the camera, I mean it's quite hard to do so without bonking the front of the lens, isn't it?

Actually, yea (I realise this is a bit of a stretch with the prism finder mounted, but) you do pick those up like in your first picture - well, lift it off the ground like that at least, having our other hand ready to "scoop" from below and.. well actually you just sort-of toss it around between your two hands, not knowing how the fuck you should be carrying this brick-shaped thing, and then you go and buy one of those overpriced straps with the proprietary clip thingies (this then, at least, sort-of solves the picking-up issue along the way - you just pull on the strap and gently assist with one hand so the fucking lens doesn't bonk on the table).

    You'll get used to it.
Actually didn't you just become a father? Use the camera as practice, it's kind of like with a kid, at least the camera holds still though
    : ]

  • Yeah using this camera a lot as it does 16 vs 10 on all my 6x7.

Next question can i buy just the lugs for this camera and use any strap?
