Thanks to all the advice on here. My 2009 iMac is up and running again really well with a Samsung external SSD 1 tb and a £7 USB key with the OS installers from eBay.

Sure, totally get your point, and I'd consider upgrading drive and memory like I said / as vilms pointed out you could give that old horse quite a boost.
Still, 10 years is a lot - you may reach a dead end soon (or may have already reached one) in terms of new OS not being supported, which will lead to, say, new version of Safari or whatever not being supported, which will lead to you not being able to really browse the internet on that thing (even though the processor / RAM etc. would happily do it).
Quite frankly they want you to buy new shiny things (and to cut Apple some slack I think they are already pretty nice when it comes to supporting old hardware). -

My wife bought this Mac a Couple of months ago and has now after some deliberating decided to by a Mac Pro. So w have no need for both so the desktop Mac has to go, to be honest there was never enough room for it anyway.
So I need to sell it, it has a 250gb flash drive fitted, which was extra.
Any suggestions on price or selling platform would be appreciated thanks
It's hardly been used and is in excellent condition. Cheers

Shelled out for an 11 pro yesterday and set up from an itunes backup. Around 70% of my music collection is missing and the songs are greyed out in the music app on the phone. Has anyone run into this problem?
The set up only took about 20 minutes which seems very fast for my music library included at around 30GB. Hopefully I just need to re-sync when I get home and it'll be all good. Has anyone run into this?

Music doesn’t sync on backup restores. You still need to plug it in and let it finish.

Have you ever used iTunes Match? I had a similar issue.

iOS 13.2.2 has made my apple maps dark and difficult to use. Is there a way to fix this? Settings are proving unhelpful.

apple maps dark and difficult to use
This is because of the bad weather, it will get lighter again in April 2020.

Have you switched on Dark Mode on your phone?

@chrisbmx116 There's someone close to me selling a vega 56, a razor core x and an LG 5k screen. Is this a good setup? Would I benefit from an egpu when using photoshop / lightroom / sketch? Google tells me both yes and no...

Finally a use for the Touch Bar...

The answer is indeed yes and no. The problem with the first gen 5k, and the reason I’m selling mine, is you can’t connect them to egpus directly as they are tb3 only so you will not get all the performance benefits. Some apps and tasks will still use it, and I think the creative suite does alright with an eGPU these days but it’s not optimal set up wise.

So an updated 5k and an egpu is the way to go? Found a few blog posts last night about later versions of Sketch offloading more work on the gpu compared to earlier versions
-

Yeah, but you'll also need a special cable which costs about 80 quid. Some VR cable which splits Display port and USB.
Interesting about Sketch offloading to GPU, can't wait to get all my stuff set up again, living on a building site atm and im going crackers. -

Just started googling egpus and had to quit. This isn't why I use a mac. Just let me buy an expensive shiny box that works. Cable included please.

Sadly Sketch is finished

Cable included please.
We will give you a cable but charge you £££ for a fucking dongle so you can connect little shiny things to the big shiny thing.

Blackmagic egpu and 5K Ultrafine (from Apple).
An eGPU will have more power than any current production Mac, they are mint.
