  • will we all throw out our vaporflys?

I will continue not buying them. Still wish I'd bought the Mayflys c.2005 though.

  • Spikes here, plus a smelly helly as I'm soft.

  • Did a parkrun for a friends bday back in Norwich today. Never run 5km under 21mins
    Did it in 19:56 😎😬

  • Congrats! The holy sub-20.

I wanted to go running today, realised I've left my shoes in work. Infinitely frustrating.

  • you make it sound like you only have one pair of running shoes, which is plainly ridiculous

  • I haven't quite reached the average level of stuff-ownership for modern lfgss unfortunately

  • My first run in several years yesterday was a triumph. Only ran 5km because I had to go to a family lunch and I’d massively overdressed. Managed 4.41/km which I was pleased with.

I want to do a half next year (probably in the second half of 2019) and ideally get round sub-1.30 to prove a point to a friend.

How many times a week do I need to run? Someone had suggested three: one endurance run, one which incorporates faster intervals and one at close to race pace, getting gradually longer. Does that sound about right?

  • Does that sound about right?

It is a common approach. I'd lay off the intervals until your body is used to running regularly though. You will get lots of gains through consistent steady miles at first.

  • I ran up NCR21 today from Redhill to Woldingham. I went past a big house and looked up on Google maps who might live there (it has a helipad).

Can you guess the owner from his inhome golf course?

  • I didn't stop at Nick The Nosh btw

  • Can you guess the owner from his inhome golf course?

    My sister's ex-husband's ex-wife's fiance's business partner.

  • David Gold

  • It is David Gold's country pile.

Around half a mile away is a house that Kerry Katona once lived.

Caterham / Woldingham - home of the rich and famous

  • @rhb you posted over a year ago about doing the EA coaching course (CiRF). Sounded like you had some reservations after the initial couple of days - how did the rest go?

  • Pain on the outside of my knee on lunch run today - probably itb?

  • Anyone on here go to the London City Runners events in Bermondsey?

  • You have PM.

  • Probably. See a physio etc etc

  • Hey, I have started working on my achilles issue with Manni and he is great, he's got me working hard on fixing the problem (lots of glute work and lots of calf strengthening initially), so thanks again for the recommendation!

He was asking who recommended him, beyond 'a bike forum' - who recommended him to you if I may ask? He said he wanted to thank them.

    Thanks again

  • yeah innit - booked in for Friday. foam roll, compression and crosstrainer until then :'(

  • I sent him a message on Insta to say that there might be a guy coming to him, who was slightly randomly recommended him on a bike forum! Glad to hear it's going well! - he's well worth following for anyone else as he posts lots of interesting running specific content.

  • In an effort to get used to running at speed I've been trying more 'fartlek' running, and am finding it really enjoyable. I don't run anywhere enough to say I'm bored with running but it keeps it kinda varied and fun.

  • On my way to Meriden to make my midnight escape!

Number 326 if anyone’s interested in dot watching.
