My surface pro is on the limit with the modeling I'm doing. So could do with something better.

Seems I can get Dell xps 13" 10th ge i7 16gb ram 512gb storage for 1200, which seems great.

Are xps okay? Could I do better?

Just chiming in (belatedly) as someone with a 4+ year old XPS. Honestly think it's an amazing machine and they've apparently only improved since.

Also no idea if it's still a thing but at the time it came with premium care which was pretty useful for replacing a broken screen

Thanks, good to know. My surface is holding up OK, so going to stick with that. It should see me though this current project so I'm hesitant to spend more. And the next project I'll have to go it to an office to use specific software.
