I know exactly that feeling as I’ve had it a couple of times before with records. One of my favourite LPs (water messages on dessert sand by Roberto Musci & Giovanni Venosta) usually goes for comfortably above £100 and I found my copy in the £2 bin of a local record shop. I felt like I was shoplifting.
Anyway I had a minor win today.
I have spent the week gazing wistfully at $50-$150 art books in New York galleries. On West Norwood high street this afternoon I saw a 2" thick Prado catalogue in the window of the RSPCA. TEN POUNDS. I was so jet lagged I could hardly pick it up. Staggered to the till with it giggling. Cashier thought I was nuts.
