Some cosmetic marks on brake track, but brake tracks look hardly used
It looks like it’s worn through in some places, but you have the same in the edge of the V of the rim, so definitely cosmetic as part of the rim. You can see the scrim layer embedded in the resin.
(Supposedly helping with braking)Some of the mottled look is actually from the carbon layup, especially seen at the valve hole, which has reinforcement.
There is also a reinforcement on the other side of the rim, as if they couldn’t make their mind up about which side to drill.I think what Reynolds must have done is use Reynolds attack road rims that were not cosmetically perfect and laced them up as Reynolds Recon track wheels.
I have had Reynolds attack wheels, and the shape is the same, but they don’t have the carbon patch for valve hole reinforcement.
