In theory, yes. With the three MacBook Pro's and LG Ultrafine 4K displays we bought, unfortunately the MacBook Pro's either don't recognise them as having that display resolution, or they can't output at that display resolution. They still look great. Just not 4k.

My MacBook Pro works with the 5k just fine.
MacBook Pro’s can defo output at 4K, are you sure you’re not getting mixed up with actual and scaled resolutions? -
It’s definitely not just a theory, so don’t give up yet. Look into what @chrisbmx116 says above.

The latest MacBook Pro can definitely use an LG Ultrafine 4K display. They have Thunderbolt 3 and support up to two 5K displays.
