Feelers out - Koga Miyata FullPro Oval

  • With a heavy heart, but not heavy enough to avoid this, I’m putting feelers out about my Koga FullPro.

    56cm

This has Miyata ovalised steel tubing, equivalent to Columbus Max, but still the Japanese FM-1 stuff. Alu forks and Koga headset.

Pictured here is a mixed group of 10speed SRAM Apex/Force. Carbon Force cranks but otherwise Apex I think, with a long cage rear mech so big range cassettes are possible.

Everything was lovingly assembled by yours truly. I bought the group used on here, and the frame here too shipped from Poland I think. Note the tiny ding on the top tube from someone letting the handlebars swing and hit the tubing. It is so minimal it’s annoying but not structural. Stem, tape etc were new, bars were a spare set that matched the period, and seatpost is correct to the frame.

I’m out at the moment but as I remember I also have a spare plastic cap for the 3TTT stem, but PX still have a bunch.

Saddle and pedals not included but may have spares I can put on to make it possible to ride away.

Is it worth £450? Too much? Too much, maybe £350 all in?? Pretty rare frame, and super nice to ride.

If too dear please help me out. I’d sooner sell on here than on ebay or whatever.

A bit of history with this frame, it has done some miles - I cycled it from Swindon to Berlin and halfway back again (until I had a chest infection and stopped). It’s been over loads of the west-country, bombed down enough of the local hills including all round the Cotswold sportive and White Horse challenge one year too I think. It got me from Swindon to London, to Harwich, Hook of Holland to Amsterdam, Leer in Ostfriesland, Kiel, Schwerin, etc etc all the way to Berlin and back via Braunschweig.

Maybe someone else can take it for another adventure, or at least thrash it round town.

  • Phone has done something weird with the ding photo. Will try fix later. Zoom in before the text and it’s there.

Yeah I see an awful tri bag, badly located on the bike.

    Nice frame though, GLWS.

  • Yea it was there because I had a Topeak one on the top, and wanted two while going to Berlin, its location actually works really well. Easy access to a spare tube/snacks without fouling the headset. Also, iron man, cos dad did iron mans and I permanently borrowed it.

  • Interested, where is this located?

  • is that an ikea bag tool roll?

  • @doug1e located in Swindon, currently. Not difficult to get to from London, postage is not out of the question but would prefer collection somehow, to avoid all the courier-related hasselhoff.
@Dogs not quite, paddling pool material - it was one of the test bags I mistreated before selling. Ikea bag isn't waterproof.

  • I'll clean up and photo this if any interest. Been avoiding the sale for months.
