Two bikes stolen ... black and white cannondale supersix with mavic wheels (no doubt will be stripped down. The other is just a regular black and white cannondale with clip too stick a basket on the front and basic tyres (again likely to be stripped down. Stolen from just near Shoreditch High Street station. Please do gimme a shout.

Nice black Lapierre mtb frame with Ritchey bars and other nice kit dropped carelessly by owner outside an off-licence by his “owner” in N16. Think I remember something along these lines posted hereto too long ago...

My friend Miles' Omnium Mini has been stolen

It's a sparkly purple Omnium Mini, stolen in Whitechapel this afternoon/evening

Buddy had his Ribble Endurance 725 Disc nicked from work lockup - Bermondsy - SE1
It was double locked (hiplok and a D-lock!) but they cut the entire rack out apparently!
So really must have really wanted this one...

It's pretty distinctive dark metallic green / fluro yellow - I've not seen another on the road
With a brooks C15 - reflective bar tape - and mudguards fitted.

It's easily done if you're undisturbed and have the tools. As ever, most bike thefts are from property and not from the street. It doesn't sound as if your mate could have done anything more to secure it other than being present.

I was behind just such a bike this morning complete with Brooks, mudguards etc. Ridden by a commuter looking gent. This was about 8.20-8.30 through Moorgate, coming from Bank.

I'd imagine it might be a well spent half hour to stand at the junctions of Moorgate and London Wall around that time.

Sorry to hear that. How was it locked? Were you in there just for a shop or was it left for longer?

Just with a basic knog lock around the rear wheel and frame.

Less than 5 mins in the shop but that’s obviously More than enough time for most locks

Annoyingly I’ve been waiting for my partner to return my d-lock after having borrowed it and no one was at the cctv/security booth they have at the front of the shop

Only if you run into a gang in a van. Most non-cable locks can't be cracked in that time unless people have massive bolt croppers with them (and even then, it depends on where it is on the bike). But yes, cable locks are basically worse than useless even if a less well-equipped thief comes along.

Do report the theft to police even if they can't follow it up. Every report reveals the true scale of the problem, and one reason why enforcement effort against bike theft has long been stop-start, despite great efforts by good police officers, is because there is so much non-reporting.

Reporting it first thing tomorrow, I agree it’s really important to help highlight the scale of the issue.

Too busy beating myself up this evening for being very short sighted. my partner is in tears as she is blaming herself for borrowing my lock and asking me to pick up dinner which is silly of course but it’ll take some convincing.
