Was I the only LFGSSer racing at Heaton Park yesterday?
-
• #8104
Me too, a bit different to Wednesday nights on the A50 for the club 10s where I sometimes see you!
I assume you race in the seniors? I'm in the old men's race just before - it was like a summer race compared to Beacon Park a couple of weeks ago... -
• #8105
Ha! I marshalled Beacon. How did I miss you? I'm a senior, yep. Was happy enough with my placing. Only one other SS guy on 48x22 (!!!) and he beat me on the last lap I think after having a crank bust off on lap 1.
Heaton is a great course for racing, I think.

great course. good levels of mud for one bike, nice and fast in places and slow and gloopy in others.
on the pompino? will say hi next time!
-
• #8107
I don't think my own mum would have recognised me I was that muddy. It was great course, I just made the wrong choice with tyres, nearly crashed on one of the first few corners and lost what little confidence I had.
You going to Liverpool next? -
• #8109
Racing singlespeed never held Jon back. He was winning London League races regularly on his.
-
• #8110
I wonder what's holding me back. Probably some aero losses in my jersey or something. Yeah that'll be it.
-
• #8111
That attitude. There's nothing holding you back. Only you are holding you back.
Release yourself from this mental block and you will soar free of your "constraints".I have a crystal I can sell you to help you achieve this.

Mini return of Muddy Hell at Herne Hill

And a proper Muddy Hell next year too
-
• #8116
Mini Muddy Hell looked fun with a decent turn-out! Good efforts on the costumes and skids
-
• #8117
Some good heckling too.
“Was that the sound of brakes?”
-
• #8118
I was most impressed with the kid who did it on his track bike. Full slicks and brakeless!
-
• #8119
Very impressive. Not belittling his efforts, but it was very firm so lots of grip.
-
• #8120
Still not sure I’d want to do it on slicks.
-
• #8121
yeah I still saw plenty of people slide out

in case anyone has time to waste at work today
(and what a race! incredible last few laps to the men's race)
-
• #8123
Why were all you senior men so slow yesterday?
My lap times would’ve had me in the top ten. ;-)
-
• #8124
Wet off camber and general lack of fitness, these are some of my excuses.
-
• #8125
Yeah, it rained in the first lap and totally changed the course
That and we’re slow
Walked into that.
