I’ve just fitted a brand new SP Dynamo to my commuter and it squeaks/squeals/whistles constantly.
Anyone else had this issue? Not sure whether to attempt warranty (which I expect will be a complete PITA) or squirt a bit of PTFE spray in it...

My b&m luxos u has decided it's a strobe light, finally joining all the other knackered ones on here. It's lasted since summer 2015 so I'm not sad.

I want to retain the ability to charge on the go, though of course it's only used touring for 2+ nights. It makes sense to me then to go for keeping charging hardware separate to lights - less junk on the bike for normal rides and I can spread the cost.
How have charging solutions come on? Last time I looked everyone was fawning over igaro d1 and that topcap plug thing

Sinewave revolution is pretty good, £120, waterproof, weighs about 3 bits of paper, is tiny.

Help from the gang please. Is there a modernish bottle dynamo for my fixed commuter? Have searched and a stupidly expensive option pops up, anyone know of anything??
Probably will if nothing available bite the bullet on above.

Bottle dynamos suck.
€150 for a rim dynamo? Why not pay like £65 for a hub? Get a wheel build cheaper than the rim option..
-
• #2291
The velogical is your only option for a 'bottle' dynamo I think. It seems to be well reviewed.
-
• #2292
Standard bottle dynamos aren't terrible if you have a way to mount one, and stupid cheap. They work fine with modern lights.
You'd better enjoy the whiney noise though.

I have. Which dimension are you after?
My cheapo calipers arent turning on but, width looks to be 22mm and the bolt diameter is 5mm.
Bolt head is 10mm

I’ve a Klite bike packer, remote switch and USB charger. They don’t do a rear light at a reasonable price it seems. Can anyone recommend one that will work?

Those lights don't seem to have connectors for a rear light? So you'd have to either plug it straight to the hub or if you want it to switch on/off like the front light, split the cable after the switch. And you'd need a rear light that has overvoltage protection to use it without the front light in between, like many of the B&Ms have, Secula Plus for example.

They do a seat stay mount too which is excellent. Thanks.

The Secula Plus burns out in about 30 seconds if used without a front light. I’ve killed two of them this way.
(B&M advertises OVP on all its rear lights, but some say “short period” and some say permanent. Secula Plus is the former)
Thanks. I just know I've bought a massive bag of them at some point. Fuck knows where it is now like.
