1st Gen Dura Ace Complete Group

  • I have to admit I have had this on eBay but it’s getting on my fucking nerves only getting silly offers. Will relist on there if no one wants it here.

    I’m looking for SOLD

Rare to have a totally complete set in this condition, even got the seat binder bolt!

Complete groupset in great condition comprised of :

GA-200 Dura Ace 1st Gen Chainset with drilled chainrings 170mm crank arms. 52/42 chain rings

GB-100 Dura Ace 1st Gen Bottom Bracket with British/ISO threaded cups

UA-100 Dura Ace 1st Gen Headset British Thread

B-210/BA-100 Dura Ace 1st Gen Brakeset with DA brake blocks

EA-100 Dura Ace 1st Gen Front Derailleur

RD-7200 Dura Ace EX Rear Derailleur

HS-731/HS-831 Dura Ace 1st Gen Low Flange Hubs. 36 hole

Dura Ace 1st Gen Quick Release Skewers

    Shimano seat post binder bolt

Generally in excellent condition and rare to have a complete groupset of this age in this condition, the group set came off a 1978 Batavus Professional and I believe it was fitted from new. The groupset is showing very little sign of wear and use.

The rear mech cable tensioner is tight, I’m just not keen on forcing it, I’m 100% sure it’ll just need a good soak in WD40.

  • Lovely. Glws

  • Got one 2 years ago with cable guides too and CRANE rear mech. Actual 1st gen.

    Was much cheaper though.

Yours feel more like either a late, before 1977, version without the crane rear mech, or a mix.

  • Interested in the headset if you split.

  • Yeah it is later. It’s a DA EX rear mech which is an upgrade.

  • Rather sell as a whole.
Will split if people buy the rest.

  • Any interest?

  • I have done a bit more research and I think the rear mech is a ‘77 RD-7100, EX was the year after so it’s either an RD-7100 or RD-7200 from velobase and pics on google it’s hard to tell them apart.

Which would make sense as it came off a ‘78 Batavus Professional Columbus SP.

@anidel yours looks like it was French thread and no hubs which is why you got it for cheap.

The Batavus has braze on cable guides hence no clip on cable guides in the set.

  • Still, £200 difference for that?

  • @anidel
Good for you that you bought one cheap!
    Congrats!

  • Good luck with the sale, mate.

  • yeah THANKS!

If anyone is genuinely interested and not just wanting to de-rail the thread give me a shout.

    Cheers

  • Telling people exactly what they are buying is not derailing, but, whatever

  • thanks for all your help!

  • There’s a full description of every part at the top of the thread your input however is invaluable!

Thanks for being so enthusiastically busy!

    👍

  • I’m 100% sure it’ll just need a good soak in WD40.

So what's stopping you. Or is it that you would prefer someone else to take the risk.
