  • Erm, I would hazard at least half of all online bike sales (regular bikes) are just shipped straight over to the customer without any checking other than that the correct accessories are in the box. I get around 3-6 a week, regular bikes that folks have bought online, attemped to build themselves then bring to me.
    Used to work for a very large independent who would take every online sale bike out of the box, fully build it, run it past the normal chain of mechanics including a test ride round the block (same for every bike) before being re-packed into a larger box so the customer only has to turn the bars, thats it, everything already done for them, they were a rarity.
    Know a local dealer that does Terns just box shifts them, they don't do anything to them for distance customers. In store collect get the full treatment though.

  • See this a lot with Brompton’s, most, namely Evans (because of the sticker it’s traceable) just out the box and off you go.
