The aforementioned Mr. Francois?

No tactical voting, stuck with Conservative majority, tactical voting both Labour and Libdems expected to do well.
-
• #25304
This might become more frustrating as the campaign goes on. It seems people can’t grasp the concept that the previous second place party might not be the best party to support to evict a Tory.
-
• #25305
Why wouldn't that be the case? Perhaps I'm just being dense today.
-
• #25306
I think it's highly questionable whether Labour will retain the votes they got in 2017, when they enjoyed a large number of people supporting them in the belief that they were a remain party- that mantle has been lost pretty thoroughly to the lib-dems, who I think are going to do very well, positioned as they are to take remain voters, people who can't stomach the anti-semitism in Labour, and people who can't stomach the generally high level of racism and thuggish stupidity in the ever more rightwing Tory party.

I think you need to consider the constituencies demographic and or history of voting.
To understand how much the 2017 election result consists of base (unchangeable voters) and float voters and who they might or won’t vote for. That said I think it’s an incredibly difficult if not impossible task.

And voters being far more likely to change party than ever before. 45% have voted for different parties over the last couple of elections I believe.
-
• #25309
That’s interesting.

I'm a bit undecided how this will go. If Labour commit definitely to a second referendum I think they may pick up a lot of remain voters on the basis that they're more likely to get into power and a good chance at a second referendum is better than a slim chance of A50 being revoked.
A lot of remainers seem to view a second referendum as a foregone conclusion for remain (I'm not so convinced).

• #25311
Question of trust again - do voters trust Labour to hold a referendum if they get into power?
-
• #25312
They have said they will repeatedly.
-
• #25313
But we still haven't had one. How could you trust them?!?
-
• #25314
people who can't stomach the anti-semitism in Labour, and people who can't stomach the generally high level of racism and thuggish stupidity in the ever more rightwing Tory party.
I’m convinced that the Tory see there massive islamophobie as a positive in there key target voter demographic of Tommy Robinson supports. There probably a little disappointed that it doesn’t get a bit more coverage.

They have said they will repeatedly.
And yet when I check ditches locally I find Johnson in none of them. Trust is in short supply.
-
• #25316
I think yes.
They come across as a bit incompetent but I haven't seen anything to suggest that they would go back on something of that magnitude. And more importantly, I can't see why it would be beneficial for them to do so if they got elected on that.
-
• #25317
FWIW objectively I think they would, viscerally I have doubts. Fingers crossed it's the head that is correct.

• #25318
Unfortunately theres only the SNP with any chance of preventing Douglas Ross from getting back in.
So vote for a Honey Monster stooge and Indy Ref 2. FML
