  • According to the podiatrist I have been shoes which are between half and a full size too small- whoops.

I therefore have a couple of pairs of Cheaneys for sale- if there is any market for second hand shoes? If not I’ll take them to the charity shop.

  • There is, and charity shops have gotten wise. Some shops are asking silly money for dead man’s shoes.

Depending on condition, and make/model/size, you might get a little back. post them here.

Sounds like they go beyond the normal boundaries of their profession 😉

Yeah, post a few pics and some details of the shoes?

  • New (2nd hand) shoes day for me - scored a barely worn pair of C&J onslow on eBay to replace my grasmere...

  • Nice shoes. Did you borrow the trousers from your son?

  • Lolz, they’re not that bad when standing but turn-ups are always in style.

  • Short trouser crew reporting for duty!

These Yuketen’s get better and better with every wear...

  • Which model are they? And how do they size?

  • Is that @me? If so:

Yuketen Angler Moc with Lug Sole is the official name. They’re available in three colour/sole combinations.

They fit true to size, however they do stretch quite a lot due to the hand sewn construction. I am wearing a US10/UK9. They are all an E width, so pretty roomy over a standard D width anyway. They’re especially wide in the heel, so if you have a narrow heel, they’re maybe not for you. I am wearing thick socks with them most of the time as they’re definitely an autumn/winter kinda shoe, and the fit is great.

  • Yeah @JB at you! Thanks good stuff. They look the business. I have lots of quoddys but looking for something a little more rugged.
    Cheers.

  • Scored a lovely old pair of Loakes from a charity shop ....not cleaned yet.

  • 🙌 noice!

  • Would anyone be interested in a pair of Red Wing Merchant in black spitfire leather - UK10. They've barely been worn.

I got them on ebay but can't help but feel they are just a little too big for me. Don't think you can get them in the UK... can post some pics if so.

  • Potential dibs, pending pics and price.

  • Alden? 😎

  • Jahr

    Scored again at Drakes

  • I went to Cheaney, Churches and Crocket and Jones today, ended up with a cocktail from Church and some shoes (and matching belt) from C&J.

What was interesting was that the service in Churches was the least impressive, but the shoes the most expensive - £570 for the pair I was considering.

C&J had by some margin the best service, Cheaney was good but not equal to C&J.

The shoes I ended up with I'm going to wear inside for a while, as they have a three month return and exchange policy which should mean that I have a degree of insurance on whether or not I got the correct size (my feet at a 9 in length, a 9.5-10 in width, and very square across the toes, I basically have flippers).

  • Any pics? What style/colour? I want to go to CJ next time I'm in London.

  • Noice. Gonna head to drakes tomorrow I reckon - stuff isn’t too badly priced here.

  • Gave the charity shop Loakes a quick clean and polish.... more to come though

  • I want to get my Alden snuff suede loafers re-soled. Is there a forum recommendation in central or east London?

  • Not in London but I’d recommend Shoe Healer in Doncaster. Their work is to the same standards as most manufacturers imo

  • Also heard good things about shoe healer

Don’t skimp on a pair of aldens. I did on a pair of wolverines and the cobblers ruined them

  • Have sent them a note
