  • Has anyone used mdf discs on a bench grinder for sharpening?

  • yep, its almost like cheating.

This place is very cheap for your compounds/mops for shining stuff up, then you can use the compounds on your MDF wheel for sharpening. Remember to turn your grinder the opposite way, so it spins away from you, as if you catch the edge, you have a multi-miles per hour pointy projectile aiming in the general area of your bollocks/minge.

  • Bollocks, wish I had seen that earlier. I have ordered and now got silicon carbide, beeswax, white jewellers rouge all from different places. Have cut two mdf discs and will balance them on the bench grinder when it arrives.

Have even bought a protractor so I can mark different blade angles. The set up will be used for axes, knives, lawn mover blades.

Saw one video where the person turned the motor assemble around on their grinder so it spins away from them but the switch is still on the front.
