Is this vertically compliant but laterally stiff chat but for cars?

Thanks all, given we're at 6 months now maybe super hideously large isn't needed. Still tempted by the i3 as the next company car given how cheap they are, but that perhaps there's scope for something less boring for the longer trips than I was initially thinking!

I was actually looking at this on car and classic as its closer to me, but it's much higher mileage. What does the condition look like from tye outside?

Yes the tax is absolutely grim but the one silver lining is that classic tax is super cheap if you would consider going pre-1989? Could be worth a look?

To be totally honest, if the wife will be driving it i sort of want something relatively modern that isn't going to break at short notice. Any mates of mine that have tried to run classics have nothing but heartache.

Right now we just need something for 2 or 3 more trips from London to Ireland, then it'll be pressed into daily duties and I'll get an unreliable toy for myself.

If I was looking for a car for my family and dog, modern safety would be a mandatory requirement.

Any recommendations for second hand 4 door electric car?

@Colm89 There are a few loophole cars like some of those newer hybrid Mercedes and the like that would be quite desirable without the VRT?

My cousin's hubby (who works for Renault in Le Mans factory) used to have one. He loved that car. I don't know much about it myself other than it's definitely as quirky as a Fiat Multipla, at least. ;)

Considering you have dog, bikes, stuff to move, I'd say an estate would fit the bill. I was myself looking at the Golf estate 1.9TD or other VW/Skoda numbers like the Passat. I really like my car but the £550 VED p.a. does sting. If I had the money, I'd get a XF Sportbrake.

Haha yeh, much as I'd love an avantime, i don't think i have the nuts to drive one.

Vw audi group cars are great, but sadly they just don't do much for me. A lot of the more modern ones in my price range are equipped with either the detonating chain driven engines, or diesel (which i can't bring myself to drive).

Yep, Matra Automobiles had (mandated?) access to the Renault parts bins so petrol versions used Laguna engines/gearboxes and the early diesels shared those from the Trafic van.

I always worked the idea that (in the UK at least) the right car was always worth travelling for.

I've always fancied a 635 CSi, but on this occasion I think I'd take the 750 Hartge.

I've got a similar soft spot for the MK1 espace. Even though my overriding memory is being stuck in the back of it on a 10+ hour trip up to Aberdeen I still think they were great. It was like driving around in a greenhouse.

They are great IMO they are the start of the people carrier that is so popular now.

They were great fun, carrying stuff such as motorbikes, carrying friends and sleeping in too.

Lot 22 or Lot 50 for me. Shame they're so many in bad order.
