I have had the one from Gore for over a year and a half and it hasn't quite vaporized like @platypus is prophesying. It's totally fine for road bike use. I wouldn't wear a bag with it or ride through brush, but the cut of the jacket isn't really suitable for those kinds of activities either. Flimsiness aside the material is amazing. It feels unlike anything else I've got, quite a strange sensation when you put it on.
